Frequently Asked Questions

Is UGA a full-time school replacement?
Yes. UGA is a complete, full-time school - not a tutoring service or supplementary platform. Students follow a structured daily timetable with live lessons, formal assessments and pastoral support, five days a week.
What year groups does UGA cater for?
UGA offers programmes for students aged 14–18, covering both British curriculum (IGCSEs and A Levels) and American curriculum (High School Diploma and APs).
What time does the school day run?
The school day runs 11am–4pm GST/AST, designed around Gulf and Arabian Standard Time families. Timetable compatibility is confirmed during the admissions process.
Are the qualifications recognised by universities?
Yes. UGA students sit for externally administered examinations through recognised awarding bodies. These qualifications are accepted by universities in the UK, US, Europe, Canada, Australia, and across the GCC — the same qualifications taken by students in top brick-and-mortar schools worldwide.
How will my child socialise and build friendships in a virtual school?
UGA is not a self-paced platform where students learn alone. Students attend live classes in small cohorts of five, participate in leadership groups, social clubs, and peer communities. They also come together twice a year for cultural immersion trips — once in the UAE and once internationally — building real friendships through shared experiences.
How do I know my child is staying on track and not falling behind?
Every student is assigned a dedicated mentor who monitors academic progress, attendance, and wellbeing. Parents receive regular progress reports and structured review meetings each term. You won't be left guessing — if something needs attention, you'll know before it becomes a problem.
Is online school as rigorous as a traditional school?
More so, in many cases. With only 5 students per class, every student is actively engaged — there's no hiding in the back row. Lessons are 100% live and teacher-led, not pre-recorded videos. The curriculum follows the same examination standards as leading international schools, with the added benefit of personalised pacing and targeted support.
What if we relocate to another country mid-year?
This is one of the core reasons UGA exists. Because all learning is delivered online, your child's education continues uninterrupted regardless of where you move. There's no re-enrolment process, no curriculum mismatch, and no lost academic year.
