Curated Application

Intellectual Distinction

Most students are taught what to think. UGA teaches them how. The Intellectual Distinction module builds the cognitive and leadership capabilities top universities actively look for — and that no exam syllabus teaches.

Curated Application

A Module Built for the Demands of the Real World

Intellectual Distinction runs alongside core academic study as a weekly MasterClass — 75 minutes of structured, expert-led intellectual challenge. Across four domains and 15 sessions, students progressively build a portfolio of six artefacts that capture their intellectual growth and demonstrate readiness for university-level thinking.

This is not enrichment. It is a deliberate developmental track that compounds in value the longer a student is at UGA.

Curated Application

Why Every UGA Student Takes This Module

Grades alone no longer differentiate candidates at competitive universities. Admissions teams want evidence of intellectual independence — students who think critically, argue persuasively, and lead with self-awareness.

Rather than hoping students develop these skills incidentally, UGA builds them explicitly from Year 10. By the time a UGA student writes a personal statement or walks into an interview, they have a year or more of structured intellectual development behind them — and a portfolio to prove it.

Each session contributes to a growing portfolio of artefacts.
